ResumeForge v1.0.0 is out

I’ve released ResumeForge, an open-source resume builder that runs on your computer.

You can bring in an existing CV as a PDF, Word document, or pasted text. With AI configured, the app extracts the content into editable sections. You check the import before saving it.

From there, you can edit your resume, choose a template, and export a PDF. There are four templates in this release, with adjustable accent colours.

AI is optional. It can suggest changes to your wording, which you review before applying. ResumeForge supports Ollama and llama.cpp for local models, or Anthropic Claude if you prefer a cloud provider. Editing and PDF export work without any of them.

Your work saves in your browser. Download a backup if you want to keep a separate copy or move it to another machine. There is no account or cloud sync.

The release includes a Docker image, so you don’t need to set up the frontend and backend separately. Download the runner files from the release page, follow the setup instructions, and open the app in your browser.

If you want a resume builder you can run locally and modify yourself, give it a try. I’d like to hear how it handles your CV, especially the import and PDF output. Please remove personal details from examples shared in issues.

The source is available under Apache 2.0: github.com/manojisnow/resume-forge.
